My adsl is back...but...
somethin is wrong...each time i connect i get different speeds. This has never happened to me before. i get connection speeds like... 192, 256, 160, and other random numbers... is it somethin wrong with my modem? or the line? i have no idea!...HELP! i have a home package of 512 down 128 up.....thin is each time i connect with different download speeds.. the upload speed is constantly 128 it has never changed... i do not knw da technical reason behind this but for me its fucked up....

It might just be me, but are you mistaking your IP address for connection speeds?
Machan.. ADSL speeds to fluctuate a lot. You will never get a constant speed. WIth regard to SLT ADSL, your ISP provides you a dynamic IP which expires evrey 24hrs or so or might be less.So everytime it refreshes the IP you get a new connection with the ISP. That changes the speeds as well. All though they say 512Kbps its a theorotical value and your true download speed would be around 200Kbps-300Kbps. The distance from your place to the local exchange also matters to the speed. The further you are from the Exchange the lower the speeds you will get. Its the nature of it so don't worry :)
It sometimes happen to me too, when my modem gets randomly reset or when something is wrong at the SLTs end mostly, but the modem could also be responsible for this. It will fix itself after a while or atleast mine did.
I hope its not my modem, I don't want it back now :)
thin is this now my line is unpradictable... this has never happened to me b4...i always got 512 for connection and now all of a sudden im gettin fucked up speeds and sometimes the line is dead where it wont connect for hours!!! i cant work like this...right now my line is 128 upload!! i dnt get this....
